Town Council
There are three members of the Town of Monroe's town council. The town council is responsible for making decisions involving how money is spent, deciding what projects take priority within the town and how to make our community better than ever.
Town Board Meetings:
The Town of Monroe holds public meetings the first Thursday of every month at 6pm. If a holiday should fall on that first Thursday, the meeting will be rescheduled to the following Thursday at 6pm.
Town Marshal
The Town of Monroe's Town Marshal and Deputy Marshal are responsible for upholding the ordinances set forth by the Town of Monroe's town council and the law set forth by the State of Indiana. They also ensure the safety of all the residents in town and do their best to protect everyone. The Town of Monroe has a volunteer police staff as well. This is to ensure the town is protected at all times.
Clerk-Treasurer
The Clerk-Treasurer holds many responsibilities for the Town of Monroe. Those responsibilities include maintaining records, ensuring timely payments, working closely with the Town Superintendent as well as Town Council & the Police Department. In addition to those responsibilities, the Clerk-Treasurer also takes care of mailing out utility bills and receiving & posting those payments. The office is also responsible for budgeting, annual reports, payroll and tax reporting and paying taxes.

Utilities Department
The utilities department is responsible for many areas around town. Those areas include but are not limited to the water department, sewage department along with storm water & street department. In addition to snow removal and heavy trash pickup, the utilities department is also responsible for maintaining fire hydrants, street signs and mowing.
The utilities department works hard and does their best to maintain the Town of Monroe.
